- About Me In Second Life
- l stumbled across Second Life on a show called Beyond Tomorrow July 2006 and logged in to see what they hype was all about, so began my Second Life. Am coming up to 3 years this July, a long way from the newbie day where you had to keep going back to Orientation Island until you could learn to control your avatar and that newbie skin, there is always one pic hidden away in ones profile.
My journey is SL has been very interesting, l was lucky to learn from some great mentors who are successful business people in SL. This helped open the doors to a whole new side of SL l wanted to use SL as a platform to bridge both RL and SL in the metaverse, our limitations are our imaginations, you have to live your dreams and enjoy the journey no matter where it takes us.
l started working with QT Labs Inc , which is a RL company here in SL which provides Virtual Integration Services for companies in the Virtual World, http://www.qtlabs.net as a Director of Fashion as well as a mentor for executives learning the basics of SL and making that transition from RL to SL.
l opened up a line of fashion shops called BDD-Bella Dutton Designs, scaled back my shops to one now at SpaceJunky HQ which l sell both skate, surf and street wear designs, where l worked with a team of designers.
l started working with SpaceJunky well over 2 years ago and work as there Virtual Music Publicist, has been an amazing journey. My role is marketing and event services, promoting SpaceJunky Resident Alien Album and providing management for SpaceJunky here in SL, as well as bookings, representation of social media and providing strategic advice and construction and business services, bookings and writing blogs, working close with the Media Industry here in SL and press releases and what ever else SpaceJunky needs done-PR work.
My RL skills has helped bridge RL to SL, as l studied psychology and a course in PR which l can apply to SL. Working with SpaceJunky has been amazing they are one of the most talented and creative performers very professional, and are great to work with. l love my work as a Music Publicist with SpaceJunky as l have learnt alot about the facet of the music industry as well as being part of this new genre of technology, still pioneers in a sense and we have still just tapped the tip of the Iceberg.
I helped on the projects with CNN RL interview with SpaceJunky which went International as well as the Sony Remix Competition we brought to SL from RL and also worked alongside some TV Shows here helping to promote the band and assisting them where needed and PR for the band.

I also worked as the SL Publicist for the Dahli Lama Tibet's Project for a while, helping to send the message of Freedom for Tibet in support of the "candle for Tibet project" RL We placed candles in over 100 Sims and organized a Festival for it as well.

SpaceJunky Concert for Tommy Parrott

HUGE PARTY TO CELEBRATE THE OPENING
OF THE FABULOUS SIM AT METAVERSE ISLAND

Metaverse TV (MBC) is opening its beautiful sim at Metverse Island on 3rd October 2009 and you are all invited.
